Mommy Makeovers in Seattle

Having children is a life-changing experience. Unfortunately, for many women, it's also a "body-changing" experience, and not necessarily for the better. Mommy makeovers, also known as Combo-Tuck, are ideal for women who want to tone and tighten areas of their body that were affected by pregnancy and childbirth. Naturally, the abdominal area is one area that moms focus on, but for many women, a breast enhancement procedure is on their "to-do" list as well.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding usually cause a visible expansion or contraction in the volume of the breasts, and also cause the breasts to change shape and position.Often, women end up with a "deflated" look to their breasts form involutional changes in the breast tissue and the inability of the stretched out skin to tighten up. On the belly, excess skin, loose stomach muscles and stretch marks often cause moms to feel self conscious and out of shape. A mommy makeover kicks in when a healthy diet and regular exercise have done all that they can do.The excersise and a well balanced diet will get your muscles in shape, cause loss of excess fat, but unfortunately, the skin with stretch marks will nor respond to this regimen.

The Mommy Makeover Procedure or Combo-Contour

A mommy makeover isn't just one standard procedure or it's not only for women who went through pregnancy. It's a customized combination of cosmetic procedures, commonly including some type of breast enhancement with body contouring of the abdominal area, hips, bra rolls and thighs. Here are the specifics:

  • Breast enhancement procedures include breast lift, breast reduction or breast augmentation. One popular choice after childbirth is a breast lift, a breast reduction/lift or breast augmentation in Seattle.
  • Tummy tucks are commonly performed as part of a mommy makeover for obvious reasons: the abdominal area undergoes the most extensive changes during pregnancy. After childbirth, it is common for the abdominal muscles – which have stretched significantly – to have a tough time returning to their pre-pregnancy shape. An abdominoplasty tightens these muscles and also removes excess skin and fat.An additional benefit is a slight elevation and tightening of the pubic area and the medial thighs.
  • Liposuction is a great procedure for women wanting to treat areas where excess fat exists. It targets areas that aren't responding to a healthy diet and exercise. Dr. Marosan commonly uses the VASER ultrasound-assisted liposuction to target fat cells in areas such as the upper abdomen, flanks, hips, bra rolls and back.
  • Facial rejuvenation is sometimes included in a mommy makeover to help restore a youthful pre-pregnancy look. Procedures include neck liposuction, fat grafts to the face, dermal fillers, and BOTOX® Cosmetic.
  •

Dr. Marosan focuses on maximizing each individual's results by considering a variety of factors. He will listen carefully to your needs and concerns and perform a physical examination. If your mommy makeover involves cosmetic breast surgery in Seattle, he will review your implant options, incision locations, and the surgical technique he will use.

    What to Expect

Mommy makeover procedures typically take from 5 to 8 hours, and will require 2-3 weeks of down time. However, the recovery period is much shorter than if the procedures were performed separately. Dr. Marosan asks his patients to arrange for help around the house for the first 7 to 10 days (especially if you have young children) so they can get as much rest as possible. By gradually returning to normal daily activities during this time and more arduous activities after about 2 to 3 weeks, you should have a very successful recovery. Not unusual, that about 2 weeks after your surgery, you might feel a little down and depressed. This is normal! After all,you went through a big operation and you want to see the results. Unfortunately, at two weeks you will still be swollen and somewhat bruised, move around slow and get tired easily. Light aerobic exercise, like walking on a treadmill, and gentle stretching can begin at 1 week. By 6 to 8 weeks you may increase your cardio exercise, can start doing sit ups or begin light weight training.
